Saving Pictures from an HTC Android Smartphone to an SD Card

Do you need to make sure your Pictures, Videos, Music and information on your HTC Android smartphone are all saved to your memory card? This article will help you make sure all of your information is backed up to your memory card and not simply saved onto the HTC phone itself.

HTC phones are actually pretty good about backing up information to their memory cards automatically, if your phone came with a memory card then chances are your information is already saved to that memory card. If your HTC phone didn’t come with an SD Card and you got it after already taking pictures then chances are you will need to save that information to your memory card.

I recommend that you check and make sure your pictures are not already saved onto your SD Card. The easiest way to check is to unmount and or remove your phones Memory card. If your pictures are saved onto your memory card then when you remove it from the phone your pictures should disappear, easy as that. If however you remove or unmount your SD Card and your information is still showing on the phone then whatever is still showing is stored on the phone and you’ll need to move it to your memory card.

Now even though HTC has a pretty good reputation for user friendliness HTC Android phones lack when it comes to going back and transferring and managing files manually, at least for now.

If you need to move your Pictures, Videos, Music, or whatever type of file from your HTC Android to a memory card the best tool to use is a File Manager application. I recommend you look into saving your information from an Android Phone to a Memory Card using ASTRO File Manager.

The ASTRO File manager will allow you to see what is actually stored on your phone as opposed to the memory card and will allow you to move whatever files you need from your phone onto your memory card.

Other Methods to Backup Information

If you’re only interested in saving your information to a memory card then the article mentioned earlier should be more than enough to get you taken care of. If however you’re looking for extra security and some additional methods on how to backup your information then I list a few of the options available on my guide for fixing common android software problems just go over some of those methods and see if any of them suite your needs. If you’re not having phone issues then you can stop at step 7. You don’t have to do a reset if you don’t want to; either way, your phones information will be nice and safe and you won’t have to worry about it should you ever need to perform a factory data reset or better yet if your phone ever experiences any issues.
